The website package

Included: one page, built to work on a phone first; your hours, address, map and tap-to-call; a plain description of what you do; a contact form that emails you directly; your domain set up in your name; hosting for the first year; and one round of changes after you've seen it live.

Not included: online ordering, booking or payments; more than one page; logo design; writing a full menu or price list from scratch. Any of these can be quoted, and you'll have the number before there's an invoice.

The free draft

Send a link to your Facebook page or Google listing and I'll build a draft of your site from what's already public, at no cost and with no obligation. You'll get it within 48 hours of me starting it.

Five drafts are open at a time so that each one actually gets finished. A draft expires 14 days after I send it, and is deleted at that point. It lives on a temporary address that search engines are told to ignore, so nothing half-finished with your business name on it ends up in Google.

If you don't want it, you owe nothing and there is nothing to cancel. You never gave me a card.

Money and the clock

The starter package is $750, split as $250 when you approve the draft and $500 when the site goes live. Larger packages follow the same shape: a deposit on approval, the balance on go-live. Both numbers are agreed in writing before anything begins.

The seven days start when both your deposit and the information I need have arrived, not when you first call. That's the only condition on the date, and it's there because I can't build your page without your hours.

Invoices are sent and paid off this website: a Square invoice, a check, or Venmo, whichever you prefer. Nothing on 6mstudios.com takes a payment or stores a card, because it never touches one.

Your domain, and after year one

Your domain is registered in your name, not mine. Hosting is included for the first year.

After that: your site stays up at no charge from me. You renew the domain yourself, which is roughly $15 a year and goes to the registrar, not to me. The upkeep plan is optional and buys changes, hosting and support. It is not required to keep your site online.

If you ever want to leave, you take the site and the domain and go. Nothing of yours is held as leverage.

Upkeep

Maintenance starts at $75 a month, invoiced monthly, cancel in any month. It is optional. Nothing about it is required to keep your site online. It covers unlimited small changes sent by email, same-day on weekdays, plus hosting and security updates.

"Small change" means text, prices, hours, photos, staff, fixing something broken, and the occasional new page. A full redesign, online ordering, new photography or a platform migration is quoted separately, and I'll give you the number before starting rather than after.

Cancelling upkeep does not take your site down and does not affect your domain.

Larger builds

Web applications are scoped in writing before any price is given, and then priced as one fixed number for that scope. If the scope changes, you get a new number to approve first. There is no hourly billing and no invoice you haven't already agreed to.

Anything involving real funds, trading, custody or prizes is your call to make with your own legal advice. I'll build what's agreed and I'll raise it every time it comes up.

Tape transfer

Every batch is quoted before work starts, and the quote holds. Turnaround starts once the tapes are in my hands. You own the finished files, and your original tapes are returned to you. If a tape turns out not to be readable, you are not charged for it.

The honest limits

I'm one person. If I'm going to miss a date you'll hear it from me before the date, not after it. I do not guarantee search rankings or traffic.
